After much uncertainty regarding the taxation of legal bills at the Cape Town High Court, the following arrangements has been confirmed going forward in relation to taxation of opposed and un-opposed bills of costs :
OPPOSED taxations will be conducted in Court 14 in order to effectively maintain social distancing. This arrangement will stay in place until further notice.
Special boxes have been placed at Security at the entrance to the Court for applying for dates, and for both opposed and unopposed taxations and thus serves as a hand-in/collect point.
UN-OPPOSED taxations are still being dealt with remotely and via e-mail.
At Bills of Cost we have been operational remotely throughout the lockdown, but since moving to Level 3, our convenient Pick Up & Delivery service is now also functional and at our client’s service.
As things are slowly returning to “normal”, there will be many attorneys that may require bills, not only for their client with costs orders in their favour, but also for themselves to make up for lost revenue as a result of the lockdown.
Our experienced and helpful staff are ready to assist in whatever your legal bill needs.
Please feel free to contact us anytime, whether it be i.r.o drafting or opposing bills or for attending taxation.
